Mozy vs Carbonite: Carbonite Wins! |

Why Did We Choose #1 Carbonite Over #2 Mozy?
At first glance it may seem that Carbonite and Mozy are very similar. In fact, based on price and features they are almost identical. When it came down to it, the deciding factors were usability, reliability and support. Carbonite is the more user friendly compared to Mozy, and requires very little maintenance once up and running. The damn thing just works. Mozy on the other effected my computer's performance, while Carbonite was hardly noticeable. Although Mozy's advanced settings can help improve performance, they are not all that intuitive. In terms of reliability, there have been some reports on the web that Mozy had issues with consistently backing up data, while Carbonite did not see to have these issues.
Since these two backup services are so similar, it was Carbonite's user friendly interface and solid customer that won me over. I recommend trying either Carbonite or Mozy to see for yourself.
